Worth a
visit is the attractive parish church of Santa Paola, which stands in the
homonymous hamlet at the foot of the Municipality of Roncofreddo, small and
pleasant village in the hills bordering the territories of Rimini and Cesena.
In the historical documents preceding the year one thousand A.D. Santa Paola
Parish Church was entitled to Santa Stefania. After the tenth century the
historical sources substitute the name Santa Stefania for the name Santa
Paola. In Santa Paola Parish Church are preserved, under the High Altar,
some holy relics considered to be of Santa Paola. The holy relics were found
in a sarcophagus, dating back to the VI-VIII centuries, which is at the
present in the crypt of Santa Paola Parish Church.
