Santa Chiara Church

In the historical centre of Rimini stands the significant Marian church dedicated to Our Lady of Mercy, known as Santa Chiara Church, which was built in the wake of a miracle. On May 11 1850 an image of the Madonna moved, in fact, for the first time its eyes. It is still possible to admire in the centre of the apse of the church – eclectic work of the architect Giovanni Benedettini – the miraculous image of the Madonna, copy by the painter Giuseppe Soleri Brancaleoni of another miraculous picture now preserved in the Oratory of San Giovannino.
